App Store, be prepared: It was about 4 Installer

If there was a moment in the short life of the iPhone, which served as a turning point in the concept that we had on the phone from Apple, then was the official launch of Installer.

Installer revolutionized the market for applications for iPhone, if not exist. He revolutionised the concept of distribution for iPhone, if not exist. And that changed the perception of the world was moving, so closed on himself as any other product at Apple… and that was no longer so complicated, since the same time, install any software.

Personally, reminded me a lot to repositories of Linux distributions, where the software is stored on servers to update the list of programs available on where the client is installed Installer. We selected, downloaded, ready.

Perhaps we owe more than we think: Installer drew attention to the native applications, then, that even revived one neuron dead inside Apple, which decided that only the company would launch software to the terminal.

And reached the firmware 2.0, App Store and the evil known apprentice named Cydia. With this update, Installer was shut down by promising that someday return with sufficient strength to compete with the App Store. That day, every day is closer.

A couple of days ago, those responsible for Installer called on all owners of repositories: It’s time, these are the instructions for your repository is compatible with the new Installer… MOVE! (more or less).

There are already around even a filtered version of the first beta, which still is not very functional due to shortage of repositories migrated to the new system.

People rip Dev warns: It’s coming in a few days (counting weeks, rather) … and promises much, as you see by the images. We do not know how this will be back after what we achieved with the official launch… Is an alternative to software rejected in the App Store?

It is most likely. It is less.
