CoverScout 3, a tool for the covers of your discs: Features
CoverScout 3, a tool for the covers of your discs: Features
He has spent considerable time since the first time we spoke of CoverScout in Applesfera, and the program has greatly improved in quality, function and the visual aspect of it. Add headlines to your albums from iTunes is that the truth has never been so easy and so comfortable to use, except the automatic feature of iTunes itself, of course. But for those discs that are not on iTunes, or that we have labeled evil, we must find another solution. And that is where CoverScout.

In the interface we find the list of records that we have in iTunes on our right, the covers of the albums in CoverFlow mode in the middle, and top potential candidates who can choose to cover our discs. The interface, quite minimalist, makes the task of adding the covers is fairly intuitive.

It is also possible to open a browser window from within the program, which tabs appear on the various search sites selected.

The search for the covers can make it in different stores Amazon, among the images in Google and the catalog of Wal-Mart, so there are quite a few chances of finding what you’re looking for. One detail is that the covers are classified as star quality (size) of the same, so we can select the best choice with just one click.
And if you do not find the edit button allows you to capture directly from the iSight the cover, as well as edit the covers that for whatever reason (bad scan, wrong color, etc.) do not match the original. All this in a more comfortable and intuitive to use.
You can also add a color, in case the resolution on the cover is low, and the scaling of the same make the home appear blurred. We can also count on an extended clipboard, where we can go after leaving the images to use them. Another feature is the ability to print the covers, front and rear discs, and so on.
CoverScout costing 29.95 euros. A program is very well done and, if needed, can solucionarte once and for all the problems with the covers of the discs rebels.

OLO Computer: Turning your PC into a notebook
OLO Computer has recently updated its website with a mysterious notebook that seems to have an iPhone instead of trackpad and a full version of Mac OS X on the screen.

Apart from that it is a simple rendering many papers to stay there, in a purely conceptual design, the thousand dollar question should be whether Apple’s phone is powerful enough to run Mac OS X at its best or just is an image made to attract attention.
Without a clear response on the part of OLO and imagining that this is a real product, they come to mind previous attempts by others to provide mobile devices from a keyboard and screen sizes larger. Palm Foleo and redfly are two clear examples of this, and none of them managed to find its audience. ¿OLO Succeeding where others have failed?

Customize your icon Mail
Customize your icon Mail
MacThemes remains an inexhaustible source of graphics resources, both for our Mac to the iPhone or Touch. I found this file by chekkz in Photoshop format, fully editable, so we can set the Mail icon. It is possible to easily change the picture of the stamp, and also edit the text of the postmark.

It’s free and downloadable from here. Then you can save it in png format and use Candybar, or open with a preview, Edit, Copy and paste the picture in the file information in the mail finder, following the trick to assign an icon that he counted on this entry.

Future about Next MacBook Air
Possible further details of the next MacBook Pro
Do not alarméis, the image that you can see above these lines is not official. Many are the ones who are waiting for the evolution of Apple’s flagship laptop, the MacBook Pro. And lately not stop any details of arise from the new model.

According to recent rumors, the new MacBook Pro has no sharp edges as the MacBook Air, but kept his line. It will be quite thin and the screen (which will be “glossy”) will have a smaller frame.
The keyboard is black, like the MacBook Air, and the trackpad will be made of glass and offer multi-touch gestures. They even said that the trackpad will match in two areas, so that the activation of contextual menus and the use of virtualized windows more comfortable. And as we discussed recently, the FireWire 800 port would become the standard, FireWire 400 dislodged.
We are dangerously close to October, and particularly’m seeing that many of the rumors about the new laptops begin to match. As always, we will wait.

Does the Apple TV, about to be replaced?
The boys of tuaw have received a breath of an Apple Reseller anonymous, who said that the store had received a letter from Apple telling them to withdraw all displays of demo of Apple TV and destroyed.

Even with a deadline for doing so: On Tuesday September 30 at five in the afternoon. Yes, Tuesday. In the letter, Apple appears, moreover, that same day on September 30 Apple will launch a webcast. What makes us think that on Tuesday it may have been new developments.
Will this be the ‘brick’ that was rumored? I am not expecting that the Apple TV had something to do with this, let alone … Perhaps this new computer that Apple wants to launch a more complete media center, or simply the Apple TV 3.0 which already talked recently.

Genius lists, just awesome, just Apple
The lists Genius Genius … lists are great. When we talked about the rumors of the new iTunes 8, said the possibility of a new type of lists quite incredible. The rumors became reality and the “incredible” feature took the name of Genius.
But as usual many people Tacho this new heists of a utility service as Last.fm and the like but also had the sole purpose of making a little bit richer to Apple. I at first I join these people but over time I realized the tremendous value of Genius and its incredible potential.

The first of these criticisms is more than questionable. Is it like Last.fm? True do the same but the method they use for this is quite different. Last.fm has no algorithm and its suggestions are based on suggestions from other users.
Genius is an algorithm that improves their searches and suggestions with the passage of time, that is able to evolve in some way “learns” from our music and shows us what’s hot.
This seemingly unimportant feature that is more interesting because in the case of Genius selecting a ballad leads to all the songs suggested are a fairly slow song or ballad, which was not happening with Last.fm.
It is also true that Apple obviously not intended as an NGO and although the service is completely free, there is a new menu that suggests to us that we do not have songs with direct links to the iTunes Store, although this menu you can hide and go completely undetected.
I am the first to criticize the arrival of this feature but over time I realized it is unbelievable that the search algorithm and the wisdom that is in their suggestions. But where has all my respect for the iPhone and is generally in any iPod.
It’s just great to rediscover your own music while you use your iPod as you select a song or to the gym and the rest of songs you animate in the same manner as that song. I over time I was surprised. What do you think to yourself the new feature in iTunes 8?

News about iPhone
Apple patented a screen lock with notifications for future updates to the iPhone
One of many things for improvement in the iPhone is the notification system you have. The device should incorporate some sort of “alerts” that allows the user to know immediately, browsing the lowest number of screens possible, if you have SMS, e-mail or calendar event without reading (at least).

I even settle for a small icon on the top bar (in Installer 3 already existed an application that did this), but until now, officially, we had nothing.
However, a new Apple patent demonstrates the interest in the company by giving a roll to the screen lock iPhone: the screen with more visibility from the user and presents fewer features.
In this patent, we can see a system of alerts for notification on the screen, with the number of messages, e-mails, events, etc … without reading. Apparently could even serve as shortcuts to each of its sections, after unlocking the phone.
Something very similar is already Intelliscreen: a “tuneado” of the blockade on the screen that shows not only what I said, but also even the weather or the news. In this case, Intelliscreen takes a long time, earlier in Installer 3 and Cydia from now (if you have the iPhone OS 2.0 or higher).
Most likely we will see an implementation of this patent at an early firmware revisions of the iPhone: hopefully improve the consumption of resources Intelliscreen, the only weak point of this wonderful application.

Project Brick: A new mac in the range of Apple?
Project ‘Brick’: A new mac in the range of Apple?
Our reader and companion of Manolo Toledo XatakaFoto just send us this rumor, that clashes with all those who argue that the transition that Apple announced this month of October to be related to laptops. Apparently, in Cupertino are working on a project called ‘Brick’ (brick in English), which could be anything between an iMac and Mac Pro.

That new Mac would be announced in the course of the event on October 14, which we still have no official confirmation, and would replace the current Mac mini at the same time it would introduce a computer small, but with more power.
Is this the new transition that Apple said some time ago? Yet we can not assure anything, but this rumor certainly brings hope to those who expected a tower cheaper than a Mac Pro. The image that illustrates this article is a fake, of course, created by Lebreton. Thanks to Jack for sending us the article!

Privacy Issues in the iPhone
Privacy Issues in the iPhone
He can go ahead if all you are talking true. The iPhone may have serious problems of privacy. Lo explained.

It turns out that all the transitions in the menus of the iPhone are made by capturing the screen, so that they can switch from one application to another the iPhone made two catches, one for the application and another menu. The phone automatically takes care of erasing the catch, so that at any moment pass unnoticed to the user, but these images can be obtained later through computer forensics tools with which such information can be obtained from a disc that has been previously cleared. This is because most systems make the positions of memory are marked as empty, so that they can later problems written without actually having data.
The fact is that there are already some experts who have managed to retrieve the catch of the images, which for example could find a screenshot of the screen with the last SMS sent with a list of your contacts in a particular application, the list of Recent calls etc …. In fact, almost all applications of the iPhone is moved using this type of transitions, thereby virtually the privacy of any program within the phone from Apple may be running a certain risk.
Privacy Issues in the iPhone
Still, the concept might be a little too convoluted, and I would venture to say that you are more likely to steal the phone to you to be chosen by an expert to look at some of your screenshots. But yes, privacy is something rare in this technology.

The Call of Cthulhu
Call of The Call of Cthulhu for iPhone
The fans H.P. Lovecraft you are lucky. Digital Jokers, a Spanish company, is currently completing to develop a video game for iPhone based on ‘The Call of Cthulhu’, a well-known role-playing game that has many versions on the market and which was based on a story with the same Lovecraft name.

The game will not be an adventure roles as such, but by what we discussed at MacWorld looks more like an adventure game based on the world invented by Lovecraft. In a commencement will be four archaeologists and paleontologists who come to investigate some ancient ruins in Egypt after an earthquake, and with this little introduction all we’ve ever played the game of role I think we already know how to develop the game, drawing first and foremost on the myths of The Call of Cthulhu and the incredible world created by Lovecraft. Mythological monsters and terror in which it will be the first adventure game for iPhone, apart from those available through the Scumm of Cydia or Installer.
Still unknown details as the price or exact date of release, although according to MacWorld will be over this September.

Case for iPhone 3G
These days ESAB looking for a 3G iPhone for my sleeve and wanted to try something other than silicone sleeves. If I remember I made an entry on a case that gained from Incase for iPod Touch and if after a few days to test it initially convinced me much, then I finished a bit tired of it because the truth is that much gets dirty, but much, a barbarity , Is a full-fledged atrapapolvo.

Although it is also true that it’s easy to clean this kind of sleeves, but go for iPhone 3G, given their nature phone and aesthetically I like very much as it is, I did not want to add any permanent coating, so I started to look for something kind iSock, one sleeve of fabric or similar to carry it covered as long as I have in my pocket but then that is very easy to remove and is not attached to telephone trapping dust and others. So I chose to the sleeve of Maya Proporta, which is basically what they came looking.

At the entrance you find some extended images of the details of the case, both the front and back outside view as the vision of the interior and how to have a 3G iPhone put inside, with a few comments on what seems to me this great option Proporta.
The overall aesthetics of the sleeve is great, the front has two lines of color that give a touch of fun in the back and we have a small hook to bring the sleeve hung effortlessly. The material is made that the sleeve is very soft and perfectly mimics the skin.
The interior of the sleeve of another colour which is more cream and is made of a material even more soft and velvety, not to make any pressure on the screen or the back of your iPhone. It fits perfectly to the size of the iPhone, we would say that neither lack nor spare anything, it’s like a glove. I have also tried to put the iPod while also touch and is subject, of course the sleeve does not fit so well with the iPhone 3G.

At the upper edge as shown in the photo above is finished in most plastics and other materials more resistant as it is the party that will be more in touch with our fingers to benefit and put the phone.
And this is the final result, the iPhone 3G within the sleeve of Proporta hearings in front, rear and above. As you see I made that part of the speakers exposed, this is done on purpose as well for the dial tone sounds much stronger than in the other position. However it is obvious that if you carry headphones, the iPhone is the setback with the headphone jack exposed.

The sleeve is worth 13 euros including taxes, more then 3 more than regular mailing resulting in 16 if you do not buy any other (I used to Agency a plastic protector for the screen by 8 euros), well can not be said or that neither side is a bargain for what it is, is an appropriate price. And if you do not like the color you have chosen me, who is brown, there are many more colors to choose from, yellow, green, purple, orange, red… the choice is yours.

Philips accessories for iPods and iPhone
When we think of acquiring a sleeve or any other accessory for our iPod’so iPhone always resort to the same brands that later prove difficult to find, oblingandonos to make a purchase online.

This does not mean much problem but it is always best to see what we buy physically, especially when we do not have a good reference for the final out of the sleeve of Maya Proporta like we did Salva Castro. And that we can find from the distribution that Philips has in many countries.
If you dais a return on his website, the section of accessories for portable players we can find a wide variety. Some continue to be plenty of others but are really interesting, so I selected a small sample of those who seem to me we should take into account as an option to buy.

VideoShell a rigid and transparent casing for the iPod Touch with the exact dimensions to be perfectly aligned and a sheet adhesive to protect the screen. So far nothing new, particularity and detail that I liked is that in part trasea incorporates a carrier that folds excel without the casing, allowing it to put our iPod Touch either vertically or horizontally. All for about 15 euros, which does not strike me as excessive.

Funda Jam Jacket, silicone sleeves available for the iPod Nano as Classic. Their corners are reinforced by if there is any drop and an organizer of headphones in the rear, so that once finished using ropes and rolling we can put the headphones so as not to be getting tangled up.
* Command universal dock for the iPod. This is great, if for some reason you need to buy a universal command to your TV, DVD player or any device you can opt for this solution. Consisting of a base that allows accommodate the iPod and control it while we took the audio or video to our TV or a computer speaker. The command for its part has an LCD screen that can be used to display menus of our iPod regardless of location because it works through walls. The snag is that it is not allowed to synchronize with our computer does not have to take to connect the USB cable.
Ultimately, I strongly recommend echéis a look at other accessories for if there were any other whatever your pleasure or utility. Better alternative sure that there are also worst but the important thing is to have the more options the better. Following is a matter of valuing each that compensates him more, the good Philips as I said before is easier to find them.
