How to properly configure and synchronize Google Calendar and iPhone / iPod touch
If you are regular users of Google Calendar, and also you have an iPhone or iPod touch, you have to know how to synchronize calendar information correctly, so bidirectional between Google software and the Apple device. One of the simplest and most useful things we can do to manage our calendars, but not all have managed to make it work.

A few years ago, communication between the iPhone and Google calendars was not automated. We had to resort to programs of other companies to “force” or simulate an update of synchronized events. However, about a year ago, Google announced Sync. Sync allowed since that time an ActiveSync synchronization protocol (built from the iPhone OS 2.0), and through push notifications (or manual) the information flying between both sides. However, to function properly we must implement a little trick. Let’s see. Configure your Gmail account as Push Before continuing, we configured our Gmail account and push mail. To do this, no more than follow the instructions on the official Google page, entering the data offered from there. Having an account means Push notification instantly sent direct to your mobile without having to enter application, for example, e-mail. Very useful for when we expect an important email, but must always be borne in mind that the battery will drain before because the device has to maintain a permanent data connection to the server for “finding” new notifications. (# ) Perhaps many of you and you may have configured this in your devices. Only I will note that you will have to activate the switch on the calendar, if you wish the changes made in Google Calendar is updated immediately on the iPhone. Google Sync, how to configure the iPhone According to official instructions, so you only have to enter http://m.google.com/sync from the iPhone and follow the steps. However, many of you you will have encountered the following screen to enter: As you can see, informs us that our iPhone is not compatible with the system. Nothing is further from reality, and here’s the trick, click on “Change Language” and click on “Español (U.S.)” as a language. Return to the previous screen, but magic! away the warning and welcome us to the wonderful world of synchronization: Press the button below, and we went with our Gmail account. As a result, we can choose the device you want to configure (in our case an iPhone) and you will get a window like this: Now we just need to click on the device just choose, at which time the system will load the calendars you have assets in our account and we will show them to be able to choose whom we want to be included in the timing: Eye! Those who choose not here then not appear in any section of the iPhone settings, not in the calendar section or any other site. This is because we do is say what calendar synchronization protocol must “look” and what not. That is not marked, it will ignore and the iPhone will not even know it exists. When done choosing who we want to synchronize with our warehouses, press “Save”. A screen in the next step will tell us that everything went well: finished the entire setup process. At this point, the schedules are elected and two-way communication between Google Calendar and our iPhone. The rigorous test Let’s make sure that everything works doing a little test. We went to our Google Calendar and create a new event. As we finish, after a few seconds in the timing of our iPhone (if we have the push on) should be updated with the newly created event. That simple. If you do not have the push on, will have to come back into the iPhone calendar application, or give back and forth from the calendar to the calendar menu, and again back to calendar , for the system to check for updates. In either case, you should see the new event: With this we managed to keep our calendar updated so if you’re in front of our computer and on our iPhone. Of course, this whole process works on an iPod touch (notifications will occur when an Internet connection via Wi-Fi), and presumably, as we’ve seen on the official website of Apple, the new iPad.
